Proview Scaffolding reached out to Scaffold Studio to provide a scaffold design and engineering for a B-Class Hoarding in the heart of Cronulla.

“Our project in Cronulla for Richard Crookes Construction came with a list of challenges including the height of the hoarding, truck access openings, Royal Wolf site sheds, high winds, and, site conditions” explained Ali Darwish – Director for Proview Scaffolding.

The height of the B-Class Hoarding needed to allow for vehicle access and required a minimum clearance of 4.0m. With Royal Wolf site sheds being positioned on top of the hoarding, a level platform height of 4.7m would need to be provided – more than 1.5 metres higher than a standard B-Class Hoarding.

With safety being paramount for all parties involved, Richard Crookes Construction commissioned Royal Wolf site sheds that included additional overhead protection of 10kPa for the safety and protection of their workers. These site sheds weighing up to 5500kg each added over an additional 30 Tonne of weight that the B-Class hoarding was required to support.

Wind, public protection, and vehicle impacts were also reviewed and incorporated into the design to ensure every detail was considered and included in the calculations.

Collaborating with Ross Engineers, the modelling, calculations, and reviews were undertaken to deliver a final design that overcame all challenges and delivered a design solution uncompromising in safety whilst maintaining efficiency and timelines.
